The Reversed Alchemist
Picture
Picture: Video still
The Reversed Alchemist IS A CHOREOGRAPHIC RITUAL IN THREE PARTS. IN THIS SOLO IXCHEL MENDOZA HERNÁNDEZ WANTS TO EXPLORE THE CAPACITY OF TRANSFORMATION IN A INDIVIDUAL/BODY AND PERFORMATIVE SITUATION. WORKING WITH RHYTHM AND FAST EXPOSURE OF SITUATIONS, SOUNDS AND LIGHTS, The Reversed Alchemist CRATES PROCESSES IN WHICH OUR SENSES GET BURDEN, IN DIFFERENT DEGREES, TO AN OVERLOAD OF INFORMATION. The Reversed Alchemist IS REFLECTING UPON HOW OUR SOCIETY IS SUPPOSEDLY DROWNING IN A FLOOD OF INFORMATION, BROUGHT ON BY THE FRENZIED PACE OF TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE, AND THE CONSEQUENCES UPON THIS PHENOMENA.

Choreography and Performance: Ixchel Mendoza Hernández | Music/Sound: Inon Peres | Light: Eva G. Alonso | Supported by CCN Montpellier / WILD CARD RESIDENCY / Life Long Burning |

Premiere:November 2017 Berlin, Germany
